I grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, the early twentieth century center of the silk industry. Both of my grandfathers worked in the silk mills, and my Dad often took me to visit the Passaic Falls to admire its great beauty and the water power that gave rise to Paterson’s early industry.
William Paterson University is my alma mater, as is Michigan State University where I earned an MA and Ed S. Immediately following graduate school, I moved to California and began a long teaching and administrative career.
Writing has always been a part of my life, and I founded LTR Productions, which enabled me to interview and write the personal histories of elders who chose to leave their legacy of family stories to future generations.
Beyond the Silk Mills is a thoroughly researched first novel of historical fiction set in Paterson. While the context is drawn from my familiarity with Paterson, the characters and the story are fictitious.
I live in Walnut Creek, California with my husband and my family nearby.
